What am I saying?
I’m a painter, animator, and artist from the poconos, Pennsylvania. My art is an expression of anguish that is only made beautiful so that society can accept the anguish. People are avoidant of the concept of anguish in its truest, rawest form, and I want to show people that it’s as abundant and relative of a concept in this world as beauty.
People with my diagnosis tend to take dialectical behavioral therapy, so I’ve looked into what dialecticals are of course: two opposites that can appear congruent in some way. In my series “Age of too much information” I try to take the concept of distress through overstimulation, and pair it with reason through organization. In the winter series, I took gesso and hand-expressed forms like I was performing ballet, and the result is often being compared to Rorschach inkblot test. I find dialecticals fascinating in art and I think they can produce products that have many interpretations.
